Police said the suspect, Rodolfo Asistio, 42, jobless, was arrested by security personnel of the mall at around 9 p.m.
City police chief Superintendent Ronald Estilles said victims Mary Jane Mangibin, 33, and Marlin Montes, 32, was about to leave the carpark when the suspect entered their Nissan Sentra and forcibly took their cell phones and jewelry.
Asistio then ordered Montes to get out of the car to withdraw cash from a nearby ATM.
Mangibin told probers the suspect stayed inside the car with Mangibin while waiting for Montes.
Montes, however, reported the incident to mall security officers, who immediately arrested the suspect. Edu Punay
