Suspected drug pusher found dead in Taguig

- Evelyn Macairan -
The Taguig municipal police is again facing a blank wall after a suspected drug dealer was found dead on Saturday evening. It was the seventh unsolved murder in 10 days.

PO3 Alain Sigua, case officer, said the victim, wearing a printed white shirt and khakki shorts, was still unidentified.

Police described him to be between 35-40 years old, around 5’4" in height, heavily built, with curly hair and had a mustache and an earing in the right ear.

The police said a paper with the words "Wag tularan pusher" was found beside the corpse.

However, Senior Police Officer 4 William Dam, police sub-station commander, said they have not yet verified the identity of the victim because the residents in the area where the body was found refused to cooperate.

Dam said that the accusation that the victim was involved in the illegal drug trade may be true. "Quiapo 2 is a notorious place for drug dealers," he said.

He, however, dismissed the notion that a vigilante group is circulating around the area. "There is no vigilante group in Taguig. This is merely a simple case of treachery among drug pushers. The victim might have gone to Maharlika to buy shabu and was killed because he was carrying a large amount of money," said Dam.

Police recovered five slugs of a caliber .45 handgun.
