Aguilar will receive the award on Dec. 30 at the AFP Theater in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
The Dangal ng Bayan Award for Public Service is given to outstanding public servants who have introduced innovative approach to fasttracking the provision of basic social services to the general public, especially the underprivileged.
Now on its 20th year, the National Consumer Affairs Foundation has also recognized Aguilars active efforts in promoting the interests of the youth in the city.
In particular, the city government has provided schools for elementary and secondary levels, benefiting the children and students down to the barangay level.
He likewise provided prep schools to young children in line with the governments effort to provide basic education aimed at uplifting the living conditions of the citys residents in the future.
Aguilar has also introduced measures at city hall to accommodate and facilitate the immediate provision of basic services to the transacting public.
Despite the citys limited resources, Aguilar has provided health care services for free to qualified beneficiaries.
