Maricris Gardoce, 28, of Bagong Pag-asa, Quezon City, died on the spot while her husband, Richard, 28, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Quezon City General Hospital.
The couple’s children, Jake, 3, and Samantha, 1, are in critical condition at the Veterans Memorial Hospital due to severe head and body injuries.
Police said Eugenio Corolino, 26, driver of Raymor Corp., located at Violago Homes, Tandang Sora, Quezon City, and a resident of Blk. 2, Lot 3, Phase 1-C Greenwood Subdivision, Pasig City, immediately surrendered to the Central Police District-Traffic Sector 6.
Senior Police Officer 2 Jun Cuaresma said the incident happened at around 10:30 a.m. in front of Phil-am Homes in Bagong Pag-asa.
Investigation showed the Gardoce family were crossing EDSA, after attending Sunday Mass, when the delivery van, with license plate XGC 138, hit them.
