Feast day turns bloody

The celebration of the feast day of San Roque in Purok 6, Alabang, Muntinlupa city on Saturday turned bloody when a drunken man stabbed dead a construction worker.
Police Officer 3 Buenaventura dela Cuesta said the victim, Elpidio Cruz, 48, of 23, Purok 6-B, was talking to a friend when Vicente Gando, 33, of Silang, Cavite, stabbed him on the left side of the body near the armpit.
"The suspect used a 29-inch kitchen knife but it may have punctured Cruz heart," De la Cuesta said.
The victim was brought to the Alabang Medical Clinic where he was pronounced dead. Meanwhile, bystanders reportedly collared Gando and beat him up.
During the investigation, Gando, a former resident of Purok 6 said he has no grudge against the victim but because of the influence of liquor, he was not able to control his actions.
