A Philippine National Police (PNP) officer yesterday denied allegations that he fired at the employees of BLM Courier Agency after being heckled at a meeting in a Makati office last week.
PO1 Anthony Sol Cruz, of 132 Lakandula street, Tondo, Manila, clarified that the complainants stormed his wifes agency on Fortuna street in Makati City after they learned that they were fired from their jobs.
Cruz said he even invited the angry employees inside his office to calm them down but the group attacked and tried to maul him, forcing him to fire a warning shot.
Police reports showed Cruz nearly hit Rhobel Capisonda, who sustained minor burns and a mark after the bullet grazed his nape. He was brought to the Ospital ng Maynila for treatment.
Cruz also denied that he was on AWOL (absence without official leave) and said he is assigned at the Pampanga police force. Nestor Etolle
