Las Piñas producing more skilled workers

The city of Las Piñas is becoming the country’s center for skills development as its local manpower and skills training school produces an average of 2,000 skilled workers and entrepreneurs yearly.

An additional 1,000 students who had undergone a three-month vocational and technical courses are the latest addition to the list of skilled Filipinos when they receive their certificates from Las Piñas City Mayor Vergel Aguilar and Vice Mayor Louie Bustamante during graduation rites at Verdant Acres Subdivision Covered Court in Pamplona III, Las Piñas City tomorrow.

Aguilar said that this year’s batch of graduates will be provided referrals for job placements in various companies in the city through the assistance of his administration’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO).

Mel Aguilar, wife of the mayor, will be the keynote and guest speaker.

The city’s manpower and skills training school, a priority program of Aguilar, provides quality vocational and technical education to underprivileged city residents who cannot afford to enroll in expensive private schools.

Since 1995, the center had already produced more than 10,000 graduates who are now successfully employed and others with their own small livelihood business.
