P1.5-M in fake bills seized at Bilibid

An inmate of the New Bilibid Prisons in Muntinlupa City was found carrying around P1.5 million in fake bills inside the maximum security compound yesterday.
Superintendent Francisco Abonales of the NBP, identified the inmate as Roberto Cruz, who belongs to the medium security compound of the penitentiary.
It was revealed that the incident happened at around 10:30 a.m. while Cruz was about to enter the maximum security compound.
Cruz told his supervisors that he was going to the NBPs hospital for treatment of an undisclosed ailment when one of the prison guards noticed his suspicious movements.
The inmate was then subjected to frisking which resulted in the recovery of bundles of cash wrapped around his body.
Upon inspection of the money which were in denominations of P500 and P1,000, Abonales discovered that they were all counterfeit. Marvin Sy
