Mandatory drug tests in Alabang schools

Now, drug testing is not only limited to workers seeking employment or motorists applying for their drivers licenses but to high school and college students seeking to study in posh Barangay Ayala, Alabang in Muntinlupa.
The barangay council passed a resolution requiring all students from the secondary to the tertiary level to present their drug test certificates before enrolling in Ayala.
The move was initiated under the city governments campaign to eradicate the problem of drug abuse, led by Mayor Jaime Fresnedi and Vice Mayor Jojay Alcaraz.
During the general meeting of the Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Office, officials noted that the high number of drug-related apprehensions, which has risen to about 80 percent.
