According to NBI Metro Manila chief, lawyer Edmund Arugay, they were supposed to file the charges yesterday before the Pasay City Prosecutor’s Office but the Pasay City police failed to produce all the needed evidence.
Sources at the NBI said that among the evidence to be presented is a note that was written by Llamas following a traffic-related incident on Jan. 10 at the corner of Pedro Gil and Taft avenues.
The NBI said they are taking all precautions to make sure that their case against Abdulrahman is air-tight.
Earlier, specimen slugs from Abdulrahman’s gun, a registered 9 mm Taurus pistol, matched three deformed slugs retrieved at the crime scene.
Llamas, 26, died after sustaining three gunshot wounds in the body.
Yesterday, agents of the NBI met with their Pasay City police counterparts at NBI headquarters to compare notes on the case.
"We have strong evidence against him (Abdulrahman). Not only do we have witnesses who saw him shoot Llamas, we also have a police sketch and slugs from his gun," said Arugay. – Mike Frialde
