Quiapo raid yields P.5-M worth of shabu

Members of the Western Police District-Special Operations Group seized shabu worth an estimated P500,000 during a raid in Manilas Quiapo district early yesterday.
The raid also resulted in the arrest of three suspected drug pushers identified as Allan Casam, 26; Elmon Esarol, 33; and Alibol Casim, 22, all residents of the Muslim Inn Apartment in Elizondo Street.
According to Senior Superintendent Ernesto Ibay, chief of the WPD-SOG, they received information that the three were involved in big drug transactions, using the apartment as their base of operations.
The information was confirmed by a surveillance operation. Elements of the WPD-SOG conducted the raid at about 7 a.m.
Seized during the raid were a digital weighing scale, 15 plastic sachets containing 243.9 grams of shabu, nine 9mm bullets, and an improvised tooter.
The suspects are now detained at the WPD jail as charges of illegal possession of drugs and ammunition are being readied against them. Mike Frialde
