Pasig City police chief Superintendent Cipriano Querol Jr. assigned one member of the local Special Weapons and Tactics squad to secure the residence of Parsons, Jose Parsons Nabiula in real life, 43, of 44 Rainbow corner Bronze Streets, SSS Village, Barangay Concepcion Dos, Marikina. Parons said he was grateful and thanked Marikina Mayor Marides Fernando and Querol for the help.
Fernando lauded Parsons bravery after he traded shots with the six members of the alleged Waray-Waray group who robbed his house and tried to rape his two daughters at around 6:30 a.m. Thursday.
The suspects entered Parsons house last Thursday when the maid was about to close the gate after the school bus had fetched one of his children.
Parsons told police that the suspects hogtied the six occupants of the house, including himself.
According to Parsons, the suspects were alarmed when he told them that Mobile 140 of the police often passed by the area so they would surely be apprehended. Upon hearing this, the suspects hastily left. They carted away some P130,000 in cash from a cabinet in the couples room along with assorted jewelry, cell phones and a video camera.
However, Parons claimed that he was able to untie himself and get a gun, his service firearm while still a member of the then Philippine Constabulary, a caliber .45 pistol, from his suitcase and ran after the suspects.
Luckily, he said, the suspects were just a block away from his house and after catching up with them, an exchange of gunfire ensued.
Querol said that two of the suspects died immediately while another was declared clinically dead at Amang Rodriguez Hospital, identified as Joram Gacete, 24, of Batasan Hills, Quezon City. The three other suspects fled. Non Alquitran
