‘Dagger looks’ can be fatal in Tondo

A 28-year old vendor in Tondo, Manila learned that "dagger looks" could be dangerous to one’s health.

This victim Elvin Clores was shot dead Friday night by the suspect Jar delos Santos whom he had allegedly exchanged "dagger looks" with while walking.

According to initial police investigation, Clores, of 506 Peñalosa st., Tondo, Manila was walking along Peñalosa street at about 9:30 p.m. when he crossed paths with the 28-year old Delos Santos of Barrio Sto. Niño, Maricaban, Pasay City who was walking with his two companion.

Homicide Investigators said that for no apparent reason, Clores and Delos Santos exchanged "dagger looks."

This apparently angered the suspect, who then allegedly drew out a pistol and shot the victim several times in the body.

Police said Clores died while undergoing treatment at the Mary Johnston Hospital while policemen immediately arrested Delos Santos. He is now detained at the Western Police District Integrated Jail as charges are now being readied against him.

Probers are strongly looking into the angle that the victim and the suspect harbored ill feelings towards each other prior to the shooting. – Mike Frialde
