The headless body of a still unidentified man, believed to be a victim of summary execution, was found sealed inside a plastic drum floating in a river in Caloocan City yesterday.
A mans head contained in a plastic bag and presumably belonging to the body taken out of the water, was later found several meters upstream.
The victim was described as about 50 to 55 years old, five-feet-eight inches tall, with curly hair, brown complexioned and of medium built. The victims hands and feet were bound by a steel wire, the police said.
The body was found inside a blue plastic drum which was drifting down the river in Barangay Bagumbong by children who were bathing in the area. They said they only wanted to sell the drum when they first spotted it.
According to police reports, the head and body were found around 11 a.m.
Probers said the victim could have been killed in another place and later dumped into the river. Jerry Botial
