Developed in the backyards of the Department of Science and Technology compound in Taguig, Alco-Diesel, Lan-Gas fuel and the Super Bunker Formula-L blends present a very good alternative to the countrys industrial and commercial fuel requirements during these times of rising fuel costs.
The three products were invented by Rudy Lantano Sr., who won the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) gold medal during the 1996 National Inventors Week for his Super Bunker Formula-L. This revolutionary product is a mixture of up to 50 percent water and ordinary bunker-C fuel used by industries but burns better and emits less pollutants by up to 95 percent.
Lantano said his company, RL Enterprises, has secured new markets initially in Luzon for his new products which are being mixed in the firms own blending facility also in Taguig and will soon start bulk deliveries.
The facility is allowed by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources to produce two million liters of Alco-Diesel, two million liters of Lan-Gas and an unlimited quantity of Super Bunker Formula-L daily.
Lantano said his fuel lines are a result of blending new ingredients and additives with ordinary oil products through agitation and mixing, which is a very safe process. He added that he also does not use heat in the blending process and thus there is no waste by-product that may pollute the environment.
Alco-diesel, an alternative to ordinary diesel fuel, is a mixture of denatured alcohol and diesel. If used extensively on a nationwide level, it has the potential of displacing three million barrels of ordinary diesel fuel annually and therefore reducing diesel importation, as well as harmful emissions.
