The body of an 11-year-old boy who was reported missing at the height of Tropical Depression Jolina in Valenzuela City was found Monday morning floating in a creek.
The police identified the fatality as Edgar Tolentino, a grade school pupil of Barangay Maysan. The boy and his younger sister, Elisa, were reported missing during the storm last Saturday. The girl is still missing, the police said.
Tolentinos bloated body was discovered by his relatives Frank Hombro and Roger Abejo, floating on Maysan Creek along Maysan Road at around 7 a.m.
The two children were last seen Saturday night while playing near the swollen creek as heavy rains pounded the Northern Metro Manila area and submerged the cities of Caloocan, Malabon, and Valenzuela, and the coastal town of Navotas in deep floods.
Police said the siblings could have fallen into the creek while playing in the rain. Authorities are still searching for Elisas body. Nikko Dizon
