Lims son, Roland, said that the affair, dubbed "Proklamasyon ng Bayan," will be marked with utmost austerity and virtually new faces in the field of politics.
Roland, who is running for congressman in Manilas first district, said that several meeting points have been set such as Liwasang Bonifacio, Mehan Gardens, Escolta, Binondo, Plaza Sta. Cruz and Villalobos from where Lims supporters will trek to Quiapo.
Along with his partymates, Lim will walk to Plaza Miranda, where he will speak atop a makeshift stage on board a truck.
Gernale lamented that the application they filed was allegedly denied by Mayor Lito Atienza for unclear reasons. This, he said, despite the fact that the Western Police District gave a favorable recommendation for the holding of the said rally.
According to Gernale, Atienza directed his secretary Emmanuel Sison to give Permits Bureau chief Flora Go a written instruction to deny the request. However, he explained that under the law, a request is deemed approved if no action has been taken after three days.
