Chief Inspector Reynaldo Barral, Pasay police investigation chief, said they are still looking into several angles in the killing of tourist Kaneko Koichi, 70, who was staying at the Atrium Hotel, near the corner of Taft Avenue and Buendia Avenue.
Koichi, whose hands were bound with a leather belt and who had bruises all over his body, was extricated from the wire mesh of the buildings seventh floor at around 10:45 a.m. Sunday.
Barral said they have summoned security officials of the hotel to get helpful information.
He also said that housekeeping staffers of the hotel told police that Koichi was known to get his money by mail from Japan every Sunday and an "inside job" was not discounted by police.
Barral declined to give more information, saying it might jeopardize follow-up operations. Rainier Allan Ronda
