2 Iranians deported

Two more Iranian nationals were deported to Malaysia after they were caught using fake European passports upon their arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Saturday night.

NAIA immigration intelligence agents Rey Bustillo and Rudy David identified the foreigners as Gill Gerald Josue, who was caught in possession of a fake Netherlands passport, and Julien Claude Bernard Bouget, who carried a French passport.

With the duo’s arrest, Bustillo said this brings the number of Iranians apprehended in one month for posing as European nationals to nine.

Immigration Commissioner Rufus Rodriguez confirmed an intelligence report that more than a hundred Iranians are in Bangkok, waiting for the "right time to enter the country."

Bustillo added the Philippines is the "transit point" of these foreign nationals to other countries in Europe and North America.

On Thursday last week, an Iranian, a suspected terrorist, disguised himself as Reza Janmalekidechani and used a Dutch passport in an attempt to enter the country.

He was arrested, however, after he was spotted by alert immigration agents at NAIA. Rudy Santos
