November 12, 2000 | 12:00am
A 31-year-old man was arrested yesterday by police for allegedly repeatedly raping his two stepdaughters in Malabon. The suspect, identified as Allan Tablante, a resident of Sitio 6, Barangay Catmon in Malabon, is now facing rape charges for sexually abusing his stepdaughters, ages nine and eight. Police reports showed that the suspect raped the victims whenever their mother was away. The latest sexual attacks happened on Oct. 14 at about 12 noon in their home. According to PO3 Ferdinand Espiritu, Tablante had threatened to kill the victims if they squealed to anyone about the incidents. But the victims, who could no longer stand the abuse, told their aunt the other night, who immediately informed their mother of the sexual attacks. The mother subsequently filed a complaint against the suspect, and operatives of the Malabon police apprehended Tablanta, who is now detained at the towns police detention cell. Matthew Estabillo
