Prosecutor eyes libel raps vs Gigi Sanchez

Gabriel Bonjoc - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines – Prosecutor Mary Ann Castro is planning to file charges against Provincial Board Member Gigi Sanchez.

This after, she found out that Gigi is allegedly the person behind the "annoying" text messages she has received.

Castro said she received text messages coming from various numbers calling her as "gold digger who is just looking after the properties of the late former Vice Governor Greg Sanchez."

Castro was married to Leodegreco "Greco" Sanchez in a Muslim ceremony.

She said with the help of her friends, they found out that the person responsible for texting her was Gigi.

Yesterday, Castro appeared at the Talisay City Prosecutor's Office to swear in her seven-page complaint-affidavit.

She will be filing charges of libel against Gigi and would ask for a P50 million indemnity.

Speaking to reporters yesterday, Castro described Gigi as a "home breaker." She said  this was just a quarrel between the couple.

She hopes to fix her relationship gaps with Greco soon. In a press conference yesterday, Castro greeted Greco a happy birthday. Despite the controversies, she said she still loves her husband.

Earlier, Greco lodged a complaint after his Ford Ranger got lost while being parked in the Legislative Building parking area of the Provincial Capitol.

Greco said  his new wife, Castro, has a duplicate key of their car.

Greco even once appeared to Talisay City Police to put in the blotter that his Rolex watch was also taken by Castro without his knowledge.

But Castro told reporters that the watch was Greco's dowry to her before they exchanged their vows. (FREEMAN)
