JVR cheers Talisay school for Sinulog win
CEBU, Philippines - Talisay City Mayor Johnny V. delos Reyes yesterday congratulated the Talisay Central School for bagging the fifth prize in last Sunday’s Sinulog dance competition in the Sinulog-based category.
“We are proud of this achievement. It only shows how talented the young Talisaynons are. Congratulations to them and to those who helped our contingent,†said Delos Reyes in vernacular.
Delos Reyes admitted to giving his all-out support during practice and preparation by funding it including the group’s props.
Talisay Central School earlier won the grand prize in the Sinulog sa Kabataan sa Lalawigan, Elementary level division.
Delos Reyes said this achievement makes former residents who are now living abroad happy. “We are not the only ones who are celebrating this victory. Those who are from Talisay are happy that the school from their own city has won such awards. Hopefully we continue winning each year,†said the mayor. (FREEMAN)
