Talisay City SP Basillote, Caballero, Villarante register perfect attendance

CEBU, Philippines -  At least two opposition councilors and one administration councilor in Talisay City registered a perfect attendance in the conduct of the regular and special sessions held by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Talisay City covering January 10 to December 18, 2012. 

A report of the office of the Sangguniang Panlungsod revealed that of the 13 legislators, opposition councilors Danilo Caballero and Romeo Villarante, and administration councilor Dennis Basillote registered perfect attendance since they assumed office in 2010. 

Even if they were not given committee chairmanships, Villarante and Caballero said they make it a point to attend sessions. 

“Bisan pa man nga wala kami mga committee pero mutambong ug dili gyud namo sipyaton ang pag-attend sa mga sessions aron among gustong mapamatud-an nga seryoso ug sincere kami sa among pagpangalagad ngadto sa mga Talisaynon,” they said. 

Of the 42 sessions, 41 were regular sessions and one special session. 

Rookie councilors of Talisay were the top absentees last year.

They are administration Councilor Eduardo “Digul” Gullas III and Sangguniang Kabataan Federation president Carmel John Burlas. 

Gullas registered 30 absences while Burlas had 26.           Both Gullas and Burlas are college students. 

Last term councilor Joseph Odilao registered seven absences while Alan Bucao, the council presiding officer, registered six absences. (FREEMAN)
