Cops arrest ‘pusher’ near barangay hall
CEBU, Philippines - Police arrested a 32-year-old man alleged to be a drug peddler in Purok Five-star, Barangay Babag, Lapu-Lapu City last Friday evening.
Kim Berdon, 32, was caught in the act of handing two pieces of suspected shabu to the police decoy, said Police Senior Inspector Mark Gifter Sucalit, chief of Lapu-Lapu City Police Office-City Intelligence Branch.
At total of 67 small sachets of suspected shabu were seized from Berdon, who was caught near Babag Barangay Hall around 10:50 in the evening.
According to the Dangerous Drugs Board value, the seized drugs were worth around P23,718.
After the buy-bust operation, police also confiscated P300 cash from the suspect said to be proceeds of his illegal activity. Police also recovered the P200 marked money and confiscated assorted drug paraphernalia.
Sucalit said the suspect is now behind bars and will face charges under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 on Monday. (FREEMAN)
