CEBU, Philippines - A 32-year-old fraternity member, ranked No. 3 in the most wanted list of illegal drug personalities in Mandaue City, was arrested dawn yesterday at his home in barangay Alang-alang, Mandaue City during a buy-bust operation.
Arrested was Chuck Lloyd Maglasang, a member of the Tau Gamma Phi Fraternity.
The arresting team was led by P/Insp. Philip Silva, the deputy chief of the City Intelligence Branch.
Silva said Maglasang was shadowed for a month before the police carried out the buy-bust.
Seized from Maglasang were shabu and a .45 cal. pistol.
Silva said Maglasang had just arrived that dawn at his residence after attending the celebration of the founding anniversary of the Tau Gamma Phi last Thursday in Naga City.
Silva said Maglasang is considered as No. 3 in the illegal drug trade in the city for having the capacity to dispose of .25 grams of shabu per week that has a street value of around P150,000.
Aside from Mandaue, his area of operation includes the towns of Consolacion, Liloan, Danao City.
Charges against Maglasang, who is now detained at the Subangdaku police station, are being readied. (FREEMAN)
