CEBU, Philippines - A councilor in barangay Maribago in Lapu-Lapu City started a relief campaign last week to help flood victims in Luzon.
Councilor Arvin Abing told The Freeman that the victims, some of them come from Cebu, need assistance.
He said he initiated the campaign when he heard about barangay, municipal and city officials in Luzon appealing for help.
Abing said a drop-in center in the barangay has been put up to receive relief goods from residents.
“Nakit-an man gud nato ang kalisud sa atong mga kaigsoonan didto sa Luzon mao nga naningkamot kita nga makatabang usab ngadto kanila nga maoy nanginahanglan pinaagi sa tabang usab sa atong mga kaigsoonan sa dakbayan sa Lapu-Lapu,” Abing said.
The is being done in cooperation with the barangay council and radio station dyRC Cebu. (FREEMAN)
