Mandaue market asks MCWD to increase water pressure

CEBU, Philippines - The Mandaue City council has approved a resolution which urges the Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) to increase the water pressure at the new Mandaue City Public market.

The proponent of the resolution, Councilor Jimmy Lumapas, who is also the chairman of the committee on market, made the proposal after hearing complaints from the stall holders about the shortage of water supply.

“Whereas, the low water supply is not enough to cater to the voluminous needs of stallholders in the Mandaue City public market,” the resolution states.

The city council wants MCWD general manager Armando Paredes to increase the water volume at the new market to provide enough water to satisfy all paying market vendors.

“Problema kaayo ang tubig sa atong merkado ron. Grabe ang reklamo sa mga market vendors kay world class maket kuno apan way tubig ug molakaw pa sila ug layo aron makagamit sa naay bayad nga comfort room sa usa ka mall,” Lumapas said in a separate interview said.

He hopes MCWD will immediately address the problem.  (FREEMAN)
