Mandaue partners with national agencies, private sector to improve services

CEBU, Philippines - The Mandaue City government now works with national agencies and the private sector to improve services to the people, Mayor Jonas Cortes said during the formal opening of the satellite office of the National Bureau of Investigation at J Centre Mall at A. S. Fortuna Street, barangay Bakilid, Mandaue City.

Cortes believes the importance of the public-private partnership, which is being encouraged by the administration of President Benigno Aquino III.

Cortes cited the opening of the NBI Satellite Office in Mandaue, which was made possible through the joint partnership of the government and the private sector.

The city government of Mandaue has assigned personnel to the NBI satellite office while the management of J Centre Mall provided the place free of charge.

Cortes said another example is the partnership between the city government and the Aboitiz Foundation that undertakes repair of school buildings and day care centers.

The management of the mall also purchased at least four computers for the use of the operation of the office.

   The move is part of the program of NBI Central office to reduce the long lines of people applying for clearances at the regional office in Cebu City , according to NBI Deputy Director Reynaldo Esmeralda. – (FREEMAN)
