Aboitiz sponsors free circumcision

CEBU, Philippines - More than 200 boys aged 3 to 14 years old in the mountain barangay of Tawason last Friday availed of free circumcision recently through the courtesy of the Aboitiz Foundation Inc..

Rowena Astillo, manager, Administration, Enterprise Development and Primary Health and Child Care program of AFI said the annual project is aimed at helping children in one of the stages of their life.

She said aside from free circumcision, free tooth extraction and free full dosage of medicine were extended.

A mother who accompanied her two boys said she has saved a substantial amount from the free operation because she would have spent P1,500 to P2,000 for such a minor operation in a hospital.

Barangay Captain Jesus Arcilla, Jr. for his part said other boys from other barangays were invited to the free circumcision.

Meanwhile,  Barangay Ibabao-Estancia also conducted its own free “operation tuli” and dental services.

Barangay Captain Carmelino del Mar, Jr. said a total of 106 children benefited from the operation and some 70 individuals received free dental services and medicines. (FREEMAN)
