CEBU, Philippines - The contractor responsible for the renovation of Shangrila’s Mactan Island Resort and Spa has assured to extend financial assistance to the family of the child who was electrocuted last Sunday morning.
During a settlement yesterday, the family of 12-year-old Joshua Cinco promised not to pursue legal action against the company while Juanito Pamatmat Jr. the surveying manager of Quest Air Technology assured the family of monetary support.
Shangrila spent for the hospital expenses of the child when he taken to the Mactan Doctors’ Hospital.
Last Sunday, the boy and three others climbed a perimeter fence of Shangrila.
Cinco then went inside the barracks which was covered with a tarpaulin because electrical wirings were being kept there as Quest Air was doing some re-wiring work.
However, the child’s companions were surprised to see the boy shaking while touching a wire.
Pamatmat theorized the boy could have pulled a wire which was connected to the main line.
He was immediately brought to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
The boy was a first year high school student of the Pajo National High school and is the eldest of the four children. (FREEMAN)
