CEBU, Philippines - Dexter Louie Denila, the husband who is accused of killing his Japanese wife Kotoka Kajii Denila inside their home in barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City, was committed to Lapu-Lapu City Jail yesterday afternoon.
Denila, who claims innocence of the crime, said he has prepared two counsels to defend him.
A parricide case was filed against him Tuesday in the Lapu-Lapu City Prosecutor’s Office.
Denila’s wife’s parents arrived last night and immediately visited their daughter’s wake at Cebu Rolling Hills.
They will go to the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office today and will attend the case conference at the Lapu-Lapu City DSWD office with DSWD regional office personnel and representatives of Denila.
The closed door conference will decide who will have custody of the 9-month old child.
Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza is optimistic that the death of a Japanese national last Monday dawn will not affect the tourism industry of the city.
Radaza yesterday said she is optimistic the death will not affect the industry since it was purely a domestic problem which has nothing to do with the security risks of tourists. - THE FREEMAN
