CEBU, Philippines - Police arrested Thursday evening a carpenter for the alleged repeated rape of his daughter in 2005.
The carpenter was arrested by Basak police station chief P/Insp. Wilson Abot and his men on the strength of two warrants of arrest for rape and acts of lasciviousness.
Abot said that after Abano learned about the warrants of arrest early this month, he began to hide, frustrating policemen time and again.
Abot said he devised a plan to get the nail the man down.
When he learned that the carpenter was at his house, Abot went to the man’s residence pretending to be a contractor who was interested in hiring his services for the construction of a house at Deca Homes in barangay Jagobiao.
When the carpenter arrived at Deca Homes, Abot handed him two warrants of arrest.
Abot said the rape case which the carpenter is facing does not recommend bail bond while his act of lasciviousness case requires a bail bond of P200,000.
The man is now detained at the Basak police station pending a commitment order to the Mandaue City Jail. (FREEMAN)
