CEBU, Philippines - The regional office of the National Tele communications Commission in Mandaue City, in coordination with the Federation of Visayas Radio Clubs and other church officials and associations, had sent relief goods to the victims of typhoon Sendong in Negros Oriental.
Two vans of relief goods arrived in Negros Oriental last week and were distributed to the typhoon victims.
Maritoni Corominas, president of the Federation of Visayas Radio Clubs informed The Freeman that her group was with NTC-7 regional director Jess Laureno, Fr. Tito Soquino, executive director of Basilica del Santo Niño de Cebu, and Dr. Rey Martinez, the founding chairman of St. Therese Diocesan Shrine Association, and other volunteer groups.
Corominas’s group assisted in rescue operations and when it realized the need for assistance to the typhoon victims, a relief goods campaign was quickly initiated in Cebu City.
Martinez told The Freeman that they expressed their thanks to the residents of Mandaue City and neighboring cities and towns who donated goods. – (FREEMAN)
