CEBU, Philippines - Children’s International Philippines in partnership with sixth district representative Luis Gabriel Quisumbing turned over 40,000 textbooks that came from the United States to Mandaue City school division superintendent Dr. Virginia Zapanta and DepEd Province assistant division Supt. Geodiana Corriente for distribution to elementary and high schools in the sixth district.
Gertrudes Gairan, program coordinator of Children’s International Philippines, said the foundation was founded in the US in 1936 and started in the Philippines in 2003.
In the future, it will also donate wheelchairs and medical supplies in the sixth district.
Rep. Quisumbing said the donation is part of his continuing commitment to upgrade quality education in his district.
Quisumbing said he wants to make sure the sixth district will become one of the best educational center in the Philippines. (FREEMAN)
