CEBU, Philippines - This Sunday, at least 10,000 participants are expected to join Alay Lakad, which would be hosted by the Talisay City government.
"The proceeds of which, as always, will go to the Alay Lakad scholars," said City Social Welfare Officer Felipa Solana.
The city has 314 scholars enrolled in the Talisay City College as of the present, she said.
Aside from the "earliest bird" award, other awards will be given out for the biggest contingent, the most colorful, the youngest and the oldest, she said.
Registration is P20 for adults, P10 for high school students, and P5 for grade school pupils.
Participants will assemble at the Gaisano Fiesta Mall in barangay Tabunok and at the Cebu South Coastal Road, Lawaan intersection.
Solana said all participants will congregate at the Talisay City Central School in barangay Poblacion. - THE FREEMAN
