Worker files rape complaint against money lender

CEBU, Philippines - An owner of a lending firm in barangay Centro in Mandaue City was arrested Thursday by the police on the basis of a rape complaint filed by a 28-year-old married employee.

Isagani Barrientos, 41, of barangay Jagobiao, Mandaue City and owner of ICB Micro Loans Inc. in barangay Centro, is detained at the Centro police station pending the filing of a case against him.

The woman alleged that around 6:30 pm last Thursday, while she was preparing to go home, her employer suddenly grabbed her and shoved her towards the office wall.

She alleged her employer then began kissing and caressing her while unzipping her slacks. She said she struggled and then both of them fell on the floor.

She said Barrientos dragged her towards a sofa where he tried again to abuse her.

She claimed she got the chance to kick his behind, grabbed her uniform, and left the office.

When she got home, she told her husband about the incident, and they both went to the police, which immediately went to Barrientos’ house in barangay Jagobiao.

In another development, a disco-goer was arrested for alleged acts of lasciviousness while inside a bar along A.C. Cortes in barangay Ibabao yesterday dawn.

Rafael Pulvera of Looc of Dumaguete City was accused by a 20-year-old woman of taking her cellular phone and kissing her while she was asleep inside a bar at A.C Cortes Street.
