Liloan to open new public market Aug. 20

CEBU, Philippines - The Liloan municipal government will formally open the town’s public market on August 20.

After a months of preparation, Mayor Vincent Franco “Duke” Frasco said the Mayor Panphil Frasco Public Market aims to decongest the flow of traffic at the old public market.

The construction of the new public market was one of the dreams of the late town mayor Panphil Frasco, Duke’s father.

When Mayor Frasco first assumed office, he prioritized the implementation of the market project.

The one-hectare lot in barangay Jubay was donated by the family of Mayor Frasco and the other one hectare was donated by the Aboitiz Family.

Former president Joseph Estrada and Senate president Juan Ponce Enrile allocated funds for the construction of the new public market.

The new public market is one of the modern public markets in northern Cebu. (FREEMAN)
