Ouano's killer's sketch out

CEBU, Philippines - Task Force Ouano, headed by James Goforth, the team tasked to track down the suspects responsible for the killing of businessman Antonio "Tony" Ouano, who shot at close range while inside his Toyota Hilux Surf Friday afternoon, yesterday released a facial composite, or cartographic sketch of the killer.

The facial composite was done yesterday morning with the help of one of the witnesses who said he saw the killer who rode a motorcycle that was driven by a companion.

Before the killing took place, the witness said the killer was hanging out in a store across the Palace of Justice where Ouano was attending a mediation hearing.

The witness said that after buying something from the store, he saw a suspicious looking man walking back and forth near the gate of the Palace of Justice, giving the impression that if he was waiting for someone to come out of the building.

The same witness also said that he saw motorcycle painted red and black near the intersection of the Palace of Justice.

He said he didn't see the face of the driver since he was wearing a helmet.

He said he saw the suspicious looking man but did not witness the actual killing because he was already gone when it happened.

Goforth said the facial composite matches the facial features of one of four gun-for-hire men. He has a pending warrant of arrest for robbery and illegal drugs cases.

The facial composite will be distributed to other police units and urged the community to help the police solve the case.

Goforth said the way the killing was executed shows that the target was just Ouano.

Ouano's secretary, Nene Mangubat, was not harmed.

Mangubat was shocked and could not describe the assailant.

For now, police strongly believe that the motive behind the killing was business related.

Text messages in Ouano's cellular phone help the police determine the motive.

Goforth said the slain businessman's family is in mourning and may take time before any member breaks his silence over the killing.
