CEBU, Philippines - Police arrested on Sunday evening a notorious robber in barangay Labogon, Mandaue City on the strength of two arrest warrants for robbery.
Roel Ursal, 18, of sitio Lapyahan in barangay Labogon, was arrested by men from the Basak police station led by its station chief P/Insp. Stephen Amamag-id.
Amamag-id said Ursal in the past had always eluded police.
After his arrest, Ursal admitted he and a certain Elegio Sumalinog snatched the cellular phone of a security guard last Feb. 2.
The security guard was on his way home from work that day when he and Sumalinog grabbed his phone.
Police found marijuana in Ursal's possession.
He is now detained at the Basak police station.
