MANILA, Philippines - Tennis pro (and certified #ManCandy) Rafael Nadal is Tommy Hilfiger’s newest underwear model.
It’s tennis season in New York, and with the upcoming US Open, designer Tommy Hilfiger celebrates fashion week as spectator sport with the debut of Rafael Nadal as the label’s campaign star. Hilfiger hosted a set of celebrity matches last Aug. 25 in Bryant Park, New York. Nadal strips down to his skivvies for the label, appearing in both print campaigns and a steamy video set in a locker room.
The world’s eighth-ranked pro athlete played a fun game of “strip tennis” with models Chanel Iman, Constance Jablonski, Noah Mills, Arthur Kulkov and Hannah Davis as friendly competition. Nadal began the match in a tailored slate-gray look from Tommy Hilfiger. Actress Jane Lynch served as officiator, fashion bloggers Danielle Bernstein and Bryanboy served as ball girl and boy, as celebrities such as Martha Stewart and Lake Bell looked on from the stands.
According to WomensWearDaily, Tommy Hilfiger will relaunch its underwear business — running for more than 20 years — with new, more technical product.
The 29-year-old athlete will serve as brand ambassador for Tommy Hilfiger underwear and tailored clothing. Rafael Nadal was reported to have agreed to a partnership late last year with this campaign as its first outing.
