YStyle’s dream teams

MANILA, Philippines - On our 10th birthday, we’re celebrating the years with a huge anniversary bash on Monday we’ve dubbed “YStyle x Joey Samson.” Featuring a gala show by Joey Samson, who practically grew up with YStyle, we feature the talents and collaborations making this event possible.

“I started in fashion about the same time that YStyle was conceived. This collaboration, YStyle x Joey Samson, is special because they have entrusted me with a solo show to celebrate our 10 years.”

— Joey Samson, designer

“This coming show is exciting because it will show another side of Joey’s aesthetic  transforming the rigors of tailoring into objects of softness and lightness: structural without the severity. It is a matured mindset, made without the pressures of creating explosive editorial pieces. Instead, it will be a showcase of confidence in its simplicity.”

— Noel Manapat, stylist

“Design is a never ending process of refinement to reach expertise whether it be fashion, interior or architecture. I believe Joey has proven to have fulfilled his promise,  even before he reached his 10th year in the business.”

— Ariel Lozada, fashion show director and producer

The Host: Tricia CenteNEra

“I’m looking forward to hosting YStyle’s 10th anniversary. I’m always passionate and so excited the day of hosting any live event but, for this event in particular, I can’t wait! Thanks to YStyle, I’m having a gown made especially for me by an outstanding fashion designer, Joey Samson, who will be showcasing his collection on the same night. To just see his work on the night will be a treat, not to mention YStyle’s artist collaborations that evening. The night is sure to be full of surprises.”

— Tricia Centenera, model/host

The Creatives: RabbitHole

“YStyle really values artistic integrity and highlights the language of visuals. The coming anniversary event will be a fresh take on parties — a journey of the senses.”

— Geof Gonzales, RabbitHole

The documentarists: Go Motion

“YStyle gave us the freedom to make a mini-documentary more exciting and imaginative. This collaboration is a time machine.

People can expect a retrospective of YStyle’s evolution with GoMotion Production’s touch on design and animation. We can say that the video is a collage of pictures, behind-the-scene moments, dreams, and past works that will be endearing to past, present and future collaborators.— Cat Sy, Go Motion producer (go.motion.ph)
