French brand Feiyue redesigns the sneaker

Pumped-up kicks: Feiyue sneakers add a laid-back spirit to any outfit –– feminine or tomboy, disco, daring or grunge.

MANILA, Philippines - Feiyue (pronounced as fay-way) literally means “flying forward” in Chinese. This light and flexible sneaker was first manufactured in Shanghai in the 1920s and became known among martial artists, athletes and just about anyone who could walk, for its undeniable comfort.

In 2006, a group of French sneaker enthusiasts took control over the brand and gave it a new beginning. This lightweight canvas shoe underwent a series of transformations with new materials, a focus on quality and a design aesthetic that combines its vintage charm with French and international influences.

Fascinated by urban art, music and travel, the Feiyue team intuitively follows its day-to-day fancies to enhance the Feiyue range, following no specifications on trends or other preliminary studies. Memories, images, impressions and moods, picked up along their travels, permanently mesh and enhance the brand’s identity. This philosophy of opening up the mind to the world at large and researching new models is a source of inspiration for all the diverse, eclectic creations, of both the shoes themselves and their visual enhancement, and the result is this modern, ever-changing and innovative Feiyue sneaker.

Today, Feiyue is available in different markets across Europe, North America and Asia. In the Philippines, it is available in Rustan’s Alabang Town Center, Makati and Shangri-La Mall, Power Plant Mall in Rockwell, and by the end of the year, in 104 Sekai Center, 368 Ortigas ave., cor. Madison St., Greenhills, San Juan. Feiyue is also available online at zalora.com.ph. For more information, follow www.facebook.com/Feiyue.Philippines.
