MANILA, Philippines - There’s a new lady in town. Manila, say hello to Miss Selfridge. The latest UK High Street clothing brand to hit the scene announced its youthful, flirty presence via an amped-up old English tea party affair at its flagship store in Greenbelt 5.
Pink lemonade and hors d’ oeuvres in hand, the metro’s fashion denizens rummaged through racks of the brand’s summer 2012 collection, an amalgamation of soft pastels and screaming neons, demure floral prints and bold Aztec patterns in the season’s de rigueur silhouettes. Needless to say, alongside a high street chic staple of tank tops, jeans and and cut-offs, on-trend mullet cut dresses, peplum skirts, and sheer-paneled garb run aplenty.
Spotted on site were top fashion bloggers Divine Lee and Camille Co, and a number of society’s trendsetters — Tessa Prieto-Valdes, Anna Palabyab-Rufino, Marina Benipayo, Maggie Wilson-Consunji, and Kat Alano.
