MANILA, Philippines - In the eighth episode of Mega Fashion Crew, challengers were tasked to create an ad campaign for the first anniversary of 50th Avenue, a string of stylish boutiques for fashionistas and shopaholics. In line with their anniversary, as Aisha Jaafar, 50th Avenue’s vice president, explained, each team must produce three layouts for the brand’s anniversary ad campaign, working with the theme “High Street Fashion.” The winning team will have their layouts displayed at 50th Avenue’s display window.
Deputy editor Meryll Yan provided the twist to this week’s challenge: each team will be given maps to look for the location of their photo shoot.
It’s a first in the show that challengers had to work outside of the studio. Passing cars, varying lighting and the uncontrollable weather provided a backdrop of setbacks before finishing the shoot.
As the episode will show, one team struggled with a model that was feeling a little under the weather. Find out how the rest of the team had to deal with this setback.
50th Avenue vice president Aisha Jafaar and fashion designer Bang Pineda were guest judges for the week. Together with resident judges top model Raya Mananquil, fashion designer Avel Bacudio and Mega magazine EIC Sari Yap, the judges scrutinized and decided who made the cut and who will leave Mega Fashion Crew.
Team 5 (photographer Bjorn Bedayo, model Monika Sta. Maria, fashion stylist Junella Atienza, hair stylist Tricia Hermosura and makeup artist Clarence Paul) succeeded as the winners for this week’s challenge. Their finished product will be displayed at 50th Avenue’s show window and website.
