MANILA, Philippines - We are constantly inspired by fashion, art and the way these two worlds influence each other. While designing Fall 2010, we envisioned the kind of girl who’s an art enthusiast, the girl you see in galleries in every city. She has an effortless, eclectic way of dressing and putting things together in unexpected ways. She’s smart, cool and aware of things going on in the world around her. Fall’s color palette was inspired by Picasso’s Mosqueteros exhibit and Gerhard Richter’s abstract paintings. Neutral black, gray and camel are accentuated with bright pops of tomato red and electric blue. The collection focuses on a utilitarian edge infused with feminine details — the play of oilskin leather against sequins, loose knits against feathers, shearling with painterly prints. Slouchy, oversized silhouettes are worn with slim pants and workman’s-style boots. Layering is key — capes, jackets, coats, knit vests and sweaters. Accessories speak to ready-to-wear, completing the looks with square but slouchy bags, hoods, fingerless gloves and belts that are cinched over and under everything.
