Amazing Race at half the price

MANILA, Philippines - In an event that made me regret my lack of cardio conditioning, we found ourselves running around Eastwood City, Libis and splashing through puddles on a rainy Tuesday afternoon with the hopes of winning a brand-new HTC Wildfire S Android phone.

Each team was given a cellphone, a notebook and a budget of P2,000 to complete Smart’s “Amazing All-Net Race.” The challenge consisted of tasks such as hitting a certain score at Dance Revolution, and paying a mime to dance.

The best part was being required to shop for something costing P1,200 or less and Zoolander in it for the judges. Normally I like to take my time when I shop and abhor being hurried. But for this particular challenge I meekly obliged and ran to the next pit stop in a new sundress.

Each of the fun activities also had a joint task of making calls, sending text messages to contacts from other networks, making IDD calls to overseas numbers, as well as browsing and downloading from the internet.

The final challenge involved some math as we got an actual postpaid bill and computed how much it would cost to make the same number of calls and text messages with Smart Postpaid’s All-Net services. The result? Our painstaking number crunching didn’t lie as Smart indeed slashed the bill in half with P3.12 per minute of voice calls and P0.14 per SMS to all networks.

To avail all one has to do is register. Smart Postpaid All-Net Talk lets subscribers cut their postpaid call charges in half with 80 minutes of calls to all networks for only P250 for 30 days. Meanwhile Smart Postpaid All-Net Text costs only P350 for 30 days of 2,500 text messages to all networks.
