Dolce Vita: Let’s drink, wine not?

Ever tried to enjoy a glass of wine, only to end up feeling like your face is heating up and turning extremely red? Well, I’ve got something for you. What if I tell you that it’s possible to drink without getting drunk? Or have a glass and not have to worry about a hangover? Wouldn’t that be perfect? Yeah, I thought so myself, especially when I received a bottle of Dolce Vita. To me, it’s Mother Nature’s gift to people who want to drink up and not look wasted.

Dolce Vita is an all-natural sparkling grape juice drink that was developed by Giacobazzi. Giacobazzi Grani Vini is (what else but) an Italian company which has remained dedicated to producing fine sparkling wines since 1958. Well known for its deep red classic Lambrusco wine, the company is bringing to its customers worldwide another drink that is one of a kind. This year, it was delighted to concoct a non-alcoholic line that blends together in one bottle some of nature’s sweetest bounties. Thus, Dolce Vita was born. Of course, from the looks (and taste) of it, expect it to capture a spot in the party scene.

Dolce Vita is full of nature’s goodness. It is made of 100 percent natural sparkling fruit juice with no sugar, water, additives or dyes added. That’s what makes each bottle of Dolce Vita simply divine. You get a real taste of fruit in every glass. What’s more, this drink line has more than just your typical white and red grape variations. Truth is, it’s got seven other flavors which combine grapes with other fruits, to come up with excitingly good blends. These blends are strawberry grape, raspberry grape, cranberry grape, peach grape, apple grape, tangerine grape and ginger lime grape. With nine flavors to choose from, I bet you’ll never get enough of Dolce Vita. What’s even more beautiful about it is that it comes in an elegantly designed bottle by Ott Louie, which you’ll just love to have and to hold – or add to your wine collection at home. Also, it makes a lovely present for your wine-loving friends.

Of course, there are other good reasons why you should take a glass of wine like Dolce Vita. Harvard University researchers heartily claim that grapes contain a molecule called resveratrol, which may be the key to fighting cancer and prolonging life. More, they found out that polyphenols, also present in grapes, somehow cleanse the arteries by altering blood lipid levels, lowering total cholesterol count and raising HDL (high density lipoprotein or good cholesterol) levels. Likewise, grapes contain a lot of bioflavonoids, antioxidants that help the body fight diseases and keep the signs of aging at bay, too. In addition, since it doesn’t have sugar or any additive, Dolce Vita is recommended for those with special diet requirements. And if I may add, it can also be taken before a meal as an aperitif to help one relax, especially after a hard day’s work. Care for a hearty, healthy treat at the end of a grueling day?

Personally, I love the pure grape ones because they have more body than the fruit-blended variety. However, I also like the taste of the raspberry grape, love the bouquet it exudes when you open the bottle. But don’t let your Dolce Vita experience end there. Let your imagination run wild. You can always blend it with other drinks and come up your own concoction. Mix it with vodka or gin or rhum or tequila or brandy or cognac or whiskey and make your own one-of-a-kind cocktail. On the other hand, you can also mix it with your favorite fruit juice or other non-alcoholic drinks to make a soothing mocktail. If you don’t feel that adventurous though, you can simply pour yourself a glass and enjoy it with some cheese, nuts, crackers, tapas or any of those appetizing hors d’oeuvres you fancy at the moment. The most important thing is that you enjoy because life is sweet!

I bet life is even sweeter for its importers, the Beverazzi Company. With Dolce Vita as their first import product, the company aims to present to the Filipinos a modern line of internationally recognized, high-quality products designed to please the most discriminating palates. Indeed, it seems that things can only get sweeter from here. In the future, they plan to delight us with even more Giacobazzi products. In the meantime, however, Dolce Vita is happy to invite everyone to the Gourmet Corner of Makati Shangri-La Hotel on Ayala Ave. corner Makati Ave. On the other hand, should you want to order directly, feel free to call 928-2750. There’s a minimum purchase of 12 bottles for you to take advantage of the wholesale price and delivery is on a case-to-case basis.

Enjoy!
