Avril does exactly that on her debut album, "Let Go," under BMG Records (Pilipinas). The first single, the guitar-driven Complicated, has entered the international and local music charts. "Complicated wasn’t written about anyone in particular. It is basically about life, people being fake, and relationships."
Avril, who won the Best New Female Artist award in the recently concluded MTV Video Music Awards 2002, says she wants people to know her music is real and honest. "It came from the heart. I was just being true to myself," shares Avril.
"Let Go," Avril Lavigne’s debut platter is now available in CDs and cassettes in music stores nationwide.
