Manila is a wellspring of stories, nine million individual ones in fact, cast against the city's raw, powerful, and often jarring backdrop.

In the experimental and satirical movie Still Lives by Jon Red a.k.a. Juan Pula, the setting is the kitchen of a simple apartment. Though the camera doesn't move, the characters do, constantly even, bringing us deep inside the world of Enteng and his last day with a gang of drug traffickers.
