A world of mobile fun & games in myGlobe

As part of its many services, myGlobe is offering a large and varied array of mobile games, or games that can be accessed via cellular phone. Offered under myGlobe’s Fun and Games category, myGlobe’s mobile games are easily available to Globe Handyphone subscribers, with more games continuously being added on a regular basis.

"We are excited to be offering our Globe Handyphone subscribers a host of unique and highly entertaining gaming applications under myGlobe’s Fun and Games. myGlobe’s pioneering mobile games further enhance the range of our value added wireless service and special features," says Jenny Santos, Globe director for Mobile Data Services.

Depending on the type of game, users have a choice to access via SMS or WAP. The games can be accessed anytime and anywhere without having to change or upgrade SIM cards.

For easy reference, myGlobe mobile games are categorized into eight game packs: Love, Sports, Word Games, Puzzle, Party Games, Action, Adventure and Lifeguides. Just text PLAYGAME to 2355.

The Love Pack contains games or applications that are related to love or relationships. Games in this pack include Crushcow, a flirting game where users can find out for real who their crushes are; Flirt, a game that lets players practice their flirting skills; and Soul Mate, a matchmaking service that matches gamers based on their common interests.

The Sports Pack carries sporting games that puts users into the thick of sports action. The list includes Golf, a golf simulation game; Cyber Soccer Manager, a game that lets the subscriber manage a virtual soccer team; and Fishing Game, which tests fishing skills via cellular phone.

The Word Games Pack features games that challenge vocabulary, knowledge and word skills. Under the Word Games Pack are Trivia, an intelligent question and answer game; Geni, a quiz game that focuses on common sense; Hangman, the classic word game which offers limited chances to guess a hidden word; and Crazy, a fun and crazy scrambled word game.

The Puzzle Pack provides intriguing, mind-boggling puzzlers for mobile gamers. Under the pack are Hanoi Towers, a simple but deceivingly hard puzzle where the gamer has to move stones of varying sizes; Office Cubex, a maze puzzle where the labyrinth is composed of office cubicles; and Jigsaw, a scrambled picture challenge.

The Party Games Pack serves up games ideal for (what else?) parties. Check out the following: Spin the Phone, a cell phone version of the old spin-the--bottle game; Russian Roulette, the nerve-wracking game of chance and blind luck; Splat, a hunting game; and Actlt, a mobile version of charades.

Games under the Action Pack provide thrills as players kick, punch or zap their way through enemies or obstacles. These include Kung Fu Boy, where players train martial arts fighters for competitions; Mobile Warfare, where players strategize on sinking each other’s battleships; and Mobile Martial Arts Mayhem, a game based on martial arts moves.

Games in the Adventure Pack let players experience exciting situations and scenarios. Carter is a game about a young teenage boy fighting as the last dragon scout, Peaceful Dynasty is set during warring times where fighters battle for territories, while Nyctophilia is where gamers play as a shadow warrior who steals back his family treasures.

Life Guides offers practical applications and experiences. Among those featured are Tarot Fortune, a tarot card game on the cell phone; Chinese Name, which lets players know their Chinese names; and Dreams, a dream interpretation guide.
